TIKI TOON is a creative outlet for one person who markets design and illustration on brands from cafepress and zazzle, too. This past year, all my creative outputs on the web have been delayed because of sticky computer flaws, loss of data and finally a short-circuited motherboard.

This esteemed 18th century kabbalist known for his penetrating wisdom is giving us an important lesson. Anger, depression, regret, revenge - and all forms of negative emotions - are holes in the soul that create holes [illness] in the body.
As the kabbalists have been teaching for 5,000 years, whatever shows up in our physical bodies is a branch - not the root. If we wish to treat and prevent illness, we must work on the cause level, which according to Kabbalah, resides between our two ears.
What goes on in your mind is what goes in your body.
Remember the spiritual rules of the game of life I spelled out in The Power of Kabbalah: the source of all chaos in our life is caused by our reactive thoughts and behavior. If we have illness, we can't think that something broke in our body. We have to know it started with our negative thoughts and actions.
If we don't realize we are the cause, there is no way to heal our life.
I've got a student who is fighting cancer right now. The doctor tells him it's a deadly form the likes of which he has seen only twice in his career. Being a spiritual person, my student has come to the realization that he has two choices at this point: bitterness or gratitude. With all of his might, he is choosing gratitude. He is not letting the negativity creep into his mind. He's keeping a positive mental image.
And though he is not out of the woods yet, his doctor is shocked at how quickly he is healing.
The Zohar teaches when you fight the negative fragments running through your head, the Light comes to assist you. But you've got to fight. What does it mean to fight? It means when you are feeling desperate or lost or terrible, you scream to the Light, "Light please help me! I don't want to feel negative today! I don't want to be depressed today! I don't want to blame others today!"
Remember, we're in a war with our doubts. Again, this is all in The Power of Kabbalah. If we just accept the thoughts that pop into our mind, we are doomed to fail. We must continually counter our negative automatic thoughts with positive ones, as well as cries to the Creator.
God helps those who help themselves.
In addition, there are metaphysical tools to give us the fuel to do the inner healing that will result in physical healing. Zohar study. 72 Names of God visualization. Ana Bekoach meditation. Tikun Hanefesh. And you have to do these with enthusiasm, knowing that there is no other choice but to convert your thinking.
There are openings for healing every second of the year, but especially this week. We are in the portion of Pinchas, which the Zohar reveals as the secret to all forms of healing [personal and global.] Take this thought piece to heart this week because there is healing energy flying through the air. Use your consciousness to catch it. Doing so will help you, and the world, because we are all connected. I can't stress that enough.
And you can join us in person or online for Shabbat Pinchas, the healing event of the year. It is this Saturday, July 19th.
Finally, I recommend spending as much time as you can meditating on this week's 72 Name of God. Use it when you feel that nothing can help. Beg, pray, and plead for change and healing. Visualize the Light coming out of the letters, visualizing the Light coming into you.
It doesn't matter if you don't know what you are doing. Just invest the right effort. The Kabbalists teach that the moment we invest enough effort, someone or something will come and help us.

If looks can kill but my cat is blind??

Broccoli is his name: orange and white main coon colored with patches. No photo but please see icon and illustration.

My elder main coon LARGE INDOOR cat was adopted seven years ago from a tenant's home near Henry and Castro in San Francisco. Then he was an indoor/outdoor cat and became my indoor friend. I believe he needs a good outdoors porch and indoor option. He has always been about 90% blind but in good health and spirits. He has not seen the vet in two years, though. I am HIV+ and limited income and cannot take to the vet this year for check up no matter how much I save with inflation. Also, I reinforce he needs an indoor/outdoor option to live the rest of his life because he has taken to a 'restless bowel' syndrome and decided not to use the litter box anymore. He goes 'poop' outside, around and on the bathroom floor now. He is dewormed recently. His stool seems normal but more common frequently. Again, I am not able to tolerate this and my health condition. I want him to live out the rest of his life outdoors and loved. He is my 'cartoon' cat: my kabbalah cat: and icon used on many websites as seen in this posting.

I am doubtful about surrendering him at his age to SPCA or Animal Control. Please help us avoid this soon.

Kabbalists differentiate between two types of jealousy.
The first is the one we're all familiar with, whether we want to admit it or not. It's the pinch in our hearts when our friend gets what we want. That part of us that says, "why him, why not me?"
This is the worst type of jealousy we can ever have.
When we question why someone else is getting something instead of us, that's it, we're cooked. Why? Because when we question why our friend would receive something, we actually disconnect from our friend.
We create division. What happens the moment we create division with our friend? We create a separation between us and the Light. The Light, of course, being the best, most reliable, loving friend we could ever have.
Not only do we not have what we want, but we're also not happy with our friend; we've created a wall between us and them - and ultimately between us and the Light. This keeps us from getting what we want.
It's a vicious circle. Nothing good comes of it.
What shall be done?
Kabbalists explain there is a form of jealousy that is very positive. It's that voice that says, "Wow, I'm so happy for my friend, I'm glad he has that ! You know what, I want that too! I'd be glad to work for that!"
The first type of jealousy emanates purely from the realm of ego and separation. The second is motivational, and it empowers us to work with the law of cause and effect. It shows us the reason we want what our friend has is because they were sent into our life to make us want what they have - to show us that we can have it too!
Of course, we have to work for it, but when we're chasing down our dream, there can't be a consciousness of lack.
In fact most of us wear the Red String to protect us from evil eye, but do we know where evil eye comes from, and what its effects are? Evil eye is the very consciousness of lack. It's the automatic thought that fires off the second we envy someone, "why don't I have that? They don't deserve it - I do!"
Spiritually, it is equated to stealing energy from a person.
This week, find the things you are jealous of. Realize the reason you are seeing these things is to show you - you can have it too!
Next time you're jealous, go positive.

Is there someone in your life you are really trying to help? You know exactly what they need to do, they may even be open to listening to you, and yet after countless hours of explaining and pleading with them, they're still not changing?
Or at least not as fast as you'd like them to?
How frustrating is that?
The Rav says the only way to help someone change is to "give them breathing space and listen to them."
We are not here to teach people the truth. We are here to turn enough Light bulbs on in their heads so they can see their own truth.
When the Rav says "listen to them", he is telling us to erase ourselves and to be one with people. We are all messengers for one another, and there is a reason why we see the solution to a person's problem. We have been chosen to be there. But it's not our solution. We are just an instrument for delivery.
People need to internalize things in their own time. Just because we "get it" doesn't mean they are going to get it. Giving people breathing space has been one of the secrets of my parents' success. That's why we say, "there is no coercion in spirituality." Everyone has their own process, and it's not up to us to impose our timetable on their change.
The best way to transmit our message is with patience, compassion, understanding, love and old-fashioned listening skills.
Most of us are weak active listeners. Usually when someone is talking, we are already planning our comeback. And how many times do we start our response with, "Yeah, but" - which only negates everything they just told us.
Without feeling where a person is at - and asking the Light to help us communicate from our heart (not our head) - we will only push them further down the hole.
This is a great lesson for all of us this week. We want to remember that we can't crack people open just by telling them the cold, hard truth. Instead, we want to feel what the person is going through, and ask the Creator to help us to be a pure channel through which our message can flow.
When we strive for this, the words won't matter. It's the heart that matters the most.
